In Wisconsin, US Route 141 runs from Niagara to Green Bay. Overall US Route 141 forms a more direct route between Green Bay and the Keweenaw Peninsula in northern Michigan, when compared to the meandering route taken by US Route 41. The overall southern terminus of US Route 141 is at Interstate 43 on the southeastern outskirts from Green Bay. From there, US Route 141 cuts northwesterly though the center of Green Bay as an urban route. US Route 141 leaves Green Bay by joining the US Route 41 expressway north to Abrams, where the two US highways split apart. While US Route 41 heads northeasterly along the shores of Lake Michigan, US Route 141 heads straight north. At the town of Niagara, Wisconsin, US Route 141 crosses the state line into Michigan to join US Route 2 westward in Iron Mountain. However, this isn't the last of US Route 141's mileage in Wisconsin; US Route 141, paired with US Route 2, jumps westerly out of Iron Mountain back into the state of Wisconsin. US Routes 2 and 141 meet the eastern and northern ends of Wisconsin Highway 70 and Wisconsin Highway 101, respectively, in the small town known as Florence, Wisconsin. From here, US Route 141 follows US Route 2 northwest toward Crystal Falls, Michigan, and they cross into Michigan for good.
My photo of a route marker for US Route 141 in Wisconsin comes from an interchange with County Road B just north of Green Bay. Drivers in the eastbound lane of County Road B use the sign in the picture to find the southbound onramp to US Routes 41 and 141. This photo was taken during a trip to northeastern Wisconsin in December 2017. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
