^Wisconsin 119 continues west past its interchange with Wisconsin 38, July 2018.
Wisconsin Highway 119 is a short east-west expressway stemming from Interstate 94, whose purpose is to bring people to the terminals at Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport. The highway is slightly longer than one mile long, but, as it is the primary method of accessing the main airport serving the region, the highway carries a very large volume of traffic. The western end of Wisconsin Highway 119 is just south of the split between Interstates 43 and 94 that occurs on the south side of Milwaukee. A mile after starting off toward the east, Highway 119 encounters an interchange with Wisconsin Highway 38. After that, the only thing for Highway 119 to do is to reach the terminals at Mitchell Airport. That's how the state highway ends.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 119 shows a guide assembly that serves northbound travelers on Wisconsin Highway 38. The guide assembly points out the location of the left turn onto the westbound onramp to Wisconsin Highway 119, which is a short little expressway. This photo was taken in July 2018 during a day-long drive around the Milwaukee area. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
