Wisconsin Highway 137 is a short east-west route in far northern Wisconsin, near Ashland. It serves as a sort of alternate to US Route 2 on the western outskirts of Ashland. Southwest of Chequamegon Bay (a lobe in Lake Superior) Wisconsin Highway 137 begins its eastward jaunt by splitting from US Route 2. The highway runs for about five miles. Once it reaches the west side of Ashland itself, Wisconsin Highway 137 calls it quits as it intersects Wisconsin Highway 112.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 137 shows a junction marker found along Wisconsin Highway 112, at Wisconsin Highway 137's eastern end. Southbound travelers see this signage if they are heading along Wisconsin Highway 112 on the west side of Ashland. This photo was taken in August 2020, during a trip involving Ashland and locales to the east, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
