Wisconsin Highway 167 is an east-west route across northern portions of the Milwaukee metropolitan area, and it extends west a bit into farm country, too. Highway 167 is the main east-west route across the wide, sprawling northern suburb of Mequon. The eastern point of beginning is at Interstate 43, sending Highway 167 westward into Germantown. In Germantown, Highway 167 joins Interstate 41 north for a few miles. Next, Highway 167 exits onto a rural two-lane highway, which is taken west. The word "rural" is used seriously here, as there are no more towns that Highway 167 will reach. The highway passes through a roundabout at Wisconsin Highway 164, and then it continues to the western end. That western end occurs at Wisconsin Highway 83 south of Hartford.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 167 shows an old guide marker at the junction with Wisconsin Highway 164. Northbound travelers on Wisconsin Highway 164 once used this sign to navigate the intersection with Wisconsin Highway 167, but this intersection has since been converted to a roundabout. This southward-facing sign was photographed during a trip to northeastern Wisconsin in December 2017. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
