^Wisconsin 175 continues southeast past the junction with Wisconsin 181, February 2022.
Wisconsin Highway 175 is a route heading northward and northwestward from Milwaukee to Fond du Lac, mainly along a former alignment of US Route 41. In fact, most of Highway 175 is a surface alternative to the Interstate 41 freeway. First though, Wisconsin Highway 175 begins as an expressway stemming northward from Wisconsin Highway 59 in the middle of Milwaukee. That expressway passes by the ballpark where the Brewers play and it heads north of Interstate 94. After a couple of miles, the freeway ends by Washington Park, and Wisconsin Highway 175 uses a surface street to continue toward the northwest. Soon, Highway 175 becomes a major arterial moving northwest along Appleton Avenue. It crosses Interstate 41, then it parallels the Interstate to the west, going through Menomonee Falls. Highway 175 continues to parallel Interstate 41 to the west by a short distance, and it does so for a long time. Highway 175 ends at US Route 151 on the south side of Fond du Lac.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 175 is a guide marker found along Wisconsin Highway 164. Just southeast of Slinger, and just south of Highway 164's northern terminus, Highway 164 passes over Highway 175, but a short connector road is signed as a viable access between the two routes. This sign faces northbound traffic on Highway 164, telling those drivers that they can turn left on this surface street to reach Highway 175 below. This photo was taken on the way back from northeastern Wisconsin in December, 2017. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
