^Looking east down the northwestern start of Highway 180 in Wausaukee, July 2022.
Wisconsin Highway 180 is a short highway in a northeastern corner of Wisconsin. It runs northwesterly from Marinette to Wausaukee, along the southwestern banks of the Menominee River, which divides Wisconsin from the state of Michigan. The Upper Peninsula is within eyeshot along many portions of this state highway. The southeastern end is on the west side of Menominee, at Wisconsin Highway 64. From there, Highway 180 winds northerly and westerly for thirty miles. It stays entrenched in wilderness, never really passing through any towns. The last stretch marches westward to Wausaukee, where Highway 180 ends at US Route 141.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 180 is the western end marker, positioned alongside a junction marker for US Route 141. Westbound travelers use these signs to determine that they will soon need to turn onto US Route 141, one way or another. This photo was taken in December 2017, during a trip to northeastern Wisconsin. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
