^Wisconsin 195 continues east beyond an intersection with Meachem Road, April 2025.
Wisconsin Highway 195 is a new east-west route that runs along the county line between Racine and Kenosha Counties. Until 2024, this road was designated as County Road KR. Wisconsin Highway 195 is one of two state highway designations created as part of a large state-level political push for a massive industrial development in Mount Pleasant, near the freeway carrying Interstate 94/US Route 41. That freeway constrains the western end of Highway 195, which runs east from an interchange with the freeway. Very shortly after it gets started toward the east, Wisconsin Highway 195 meets the southern extent of Wisconsin Highway 311, the other route conceived for the sake of encouraging the industrial development. Highway 195 heads straight east, staying on the county line. It later crosses Wisconsin Highway 31 south of Sturtevant. After 7.3 miles in total, Wisconsin Highway 195 ends at Wisconsin Highway 32 south of Racine. This eastern terminus is a fraction of a mile from Lake Michigan.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 195 shows the eastern end marker at Wisconsin Highway 32. In April 2025, as I drove around southeastern Wisconsin to see this new route, I took this photo within a half-mile of the Lake Michigan shoreline. Wisconsin likes to put their end markers adjacent to junction markers for the intersecting highway, as evidenced here. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
