^Looking east from the roundabout junction with former Wisconsin Highway 75, February 2022.
Wisconsin Highway 20 is an east-west highway in southeastern Wisconsin. It begins by splitting from US Route 12 east of Whitewater, Wisconsin. At this point of beginning, Wisconsin Highway 67 is also crossing from south to north. Beyond here, Wisconsin Highway 20 heads east to East Troy, where it meets the northern end of Wisconsin Highway 120 and an interchange with Interstate 43. Next, Highway 20 works its way to Waterford, where it meets Wisconsin Highways 36 and 83. Past Waterford, Wisconsin Highway 20 is rather rural, until it gets through an interchange with Interstate 94 and US Route 41. East of this interchange, Wisconsin Highway serves Mount Pleasant (and the northern edge of Sturtevant). Wisconsin Highway 20 is perhaps best known as the highway that will take you eastward right into downtown Racine. Instead of ending at the north-south highway through Racine, Wisconsin Highway 32, Highway 20 joins that other highway northward for a bit. Wisconsin Highway 20 doesn't call it quits until it reaches Main Street in Racine (via either 6th or 7th Street, depending on your direction along Highway 20).
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 20 depicts the first eastbound trailblazer seen by those departing US Route 12 or Wisconsin Highway 67. This is that junction east of Whitewater, mentioned earlier, where Highway 20 ends. This photo was taken in April 2025 during a random day trip around southeastern Wisconsin.
