^Looking east along Wisconsin 50 from the eastern split with Wisconsin 83 in Paddock Lake, February 2022.
Wisconsin Highway 50 runs east-west from Delavan to Kenosha in far southeast Wisconsin. All of Wisconsin Highway 50 is about five to eight miles from the Illinois border. In downtown Delavan, Wisconsin Highway 50 splits from Wisconsin Highway 11, and it soon passes through an interchange with Interstate 43. As it continues east, it encounters Wisconsin Highway 67 near Williams Bay. Highway 50 serves as the main east-west surface route through Lake Geneva, meeting Wisconsin Highway 120 and US Route 12. After Lake Geneva, Highway 50 is rural in character until it passes through an interchange with Interstate 94 (and US Route 41). Beyond this interchange, Highway 50 is suburban, sliding right between Pleasant Prairie and western Kenosha. Two east-west state highways aim right for the heart of Kenosha; Wisconsin Highway 50 is the southerly of the two. Highway 50 ends at Wisconsin Highway 32 on the south side of inner Kenosha.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 50 is an eastbound trailblazer seen by those departing the intersection with Wisconsin Highway 31. The 4-way intersection where these two state highways intersect is on the west side of Kenosha, as evidenced by the water tower in the background. This photo was taken in November 2023 during a random day trip to southeastern Wisconsin. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
