^Wisconsin 65 heads north from its intersection with US Route 10 in Ellsworth, September 2025.
Wisconsin Highway 65 runs north-south in western Wisconsin for about 50 miles. Its position is typically around ten miles from the Minnesota state line. The northern end of Wisconsin Highway 65 is at US Route 8 south of Balsam Lake. Highway 65 goes south from there through Star Prairie to New Richmond, where it meets Wisconsin Highway 64. Next, it heads to Roberts, where it jogs west for a short distance along US Route 12. Highway 65 moves south through an interchange with Interstate 94, targeting River Falls as its next destination. It winds southwesterly into River Falls, where it bounces southeasterly off of Wisconsin Highway 35. It straightens out southward for its final stretch, which brings people to Ellsworth. In Ellsworth, Highway 65 ends at US Route 10 (duplexed with US Route 63).
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 65 is a reassurance marker seen by those starting out on the southernmost extent of the route. Those drivers encountering this scene have turned northward from US Route 10 in Ellsworth. This photo was taken as I was driving US Route 10 westward across Wisconsin in September 2025.
