^Wisconsin 68 diverges from State Street in Fox Lake, February 2022.
Wisconsin Highway 68 is a short east-west highway in eastern Wisconsin, connecting Fox Lake to Waupun. In Fox Lake, Wisconsin Highway 33's eastern course suddenly turns more toward the south. In Waupun, to the east of Fox Lake, Wisconsin Highway 49 comes from the north to turn eastward. This leaves a small gap in the east-west coverage of the state highway system, and it is a gap that is filled by Wisconsin Highway 68. Given this information, you can correctly guess that Wisconsin Highway 68's western end is at Wisconsin Highway 33 in Fox Lake, and that the highway's eastern end is at Wisconsin Highway 49 in Waupun. All of this is northeast of Madison, but southwest of Fond du Lac and Lake Winnebago.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 68 shows the first eastbound trailblazer seen by travelers departing from Wisconsin Highway 33. This is at the western end of Highway 68 in Fox Lake. This photo was taken in February 2022 during a trip around inland eastern portions of the state of Wisconsin. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
