Wisconsin Highway 77 is an east-west highway across far northern Wisconsin. It runs from a town on the Minnesota border to a town on the Michigan border. The west end of Wisconsin Highway 77 is also the east end of Minnesota Highway 48; in other words, it's a crossing of the state line out of Minnesota, near Danbury, Wisconsin. Wisconsin Highway 77 starts off toward the east by passing through Danbury, where it meets Wisconsin Highway 35. Moving onward, Wisconsin Highway 77 crosses US Route 53 at Minong, and then it crosses both US Route 63 and Wisconsin Highway 27 in Hayward. Next, Wisconsin Highway 77 meets Wisconsin Highway 13. It joins Highway 13 north to Mellen, where it splits off to go northeastward toward Hurley. Highway 77 meets Wisconsin Highway 122 at Upson, and then it ends at US Route 51 in Hurley, just south of US Route 2.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 77 shows a pair of trailblazers for the concurrency shared between Highway 77 and another state highway, Wisconsin Highway 13. Highway 77 joins Wisconsin Highway 13 northward in a rural area, interrupting Highway 77's otherwise eastward course. This photo was taken in August 2020 on the way up to Ashland and portions of the Upper Peninsula. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
