^Looking east from the point where Highway 93 joins Highway 54 in Centerville, July 2025.
Wisconsin Highway 93 is a north-south highway in western Wisconsin that begins in Eau Claire and heads southward toward La Crosse. The northern beginning in Eau Claire is on the southeast side of town, where the route splits from US Route 53 very near the interchange with US Route 12. Highway 93 aims toward the south, crossing an interchange with Interstate 94 to depart the Eau Claire area. The rest of Wisconsin Highway 93 is very rural, only serving a few small towns. Such small towns include Eleva, where Highway 93 meets US Route 10, and Independence, where the highway meets Wisconsin Highway 121. At Arcadia, Wisconsin Highway 93 crosses Wisconsin Highway 95. Beyond Arcadia, Wisconsin Highway 93 continues south, getting somewhat closer to the southeasterly-flowing Mississippi River. At the unincorporated locale of Centerville, Wisconsin Highway 93 ricochets off of Wisconsin Highway 35; it turns easterly while Highway 35 bends from eastward to southward. This eastward turn also marks the start of a concurrency with Wisconsin Highway 54, which carries Highway 93 for the rest of its route. At Galesville, US Route 53 comes from the north to meet Wisconsin Highway 54 and to give Wisconsin Highway 93 a proper terminus. I guess that's a positive way to say that US Route 53 cuts off Highway 93 in Galesville, to defend its title as the dominant north-south highway in the area.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 93 comes from its junction with US Route 10 in Eleva, Wisconsin. Those leaving the 4-way intersection, headed toward the north, will see this northbound trailblazer along Highway 93. This photo was taken as I was driving US Route 10 to the route's western end in Fargo, North Dakota, in September 2025. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
