Wisconsin Highway 98 is a short east-west highway in Marathon and Clark Counties. It stretches from Greenwood to Spencer, in an area that's west of Wausau but east of Eau Claire. The eastern end of Wisconsin Highway 98 is found in Spencer along Wisconsin Highway 13. From here, Wisconsin Highway 98 sets off toward the west, through the small town of Loyal. After sixteen miles of traversing the middle of Wisconsin, Highway 98 ends just south of Greenwood at Wisconsin Highway 73.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 98 shows a northbound junction marker in Spencer, at the highway's eastern end. Northward travelers on Wisconsin Highway 13 use this signage to recognize that they are arriving at the junction with Highway 98's easternmost extent. This photo was taken in August 2020 as I was making my way north along Wisconsin Highway 13 toward Ashland, on a trip that involved areas of northern Michigan. Back to the Wisconsin main page.
