Ohio State Route 129 is an east-west route in southwestern Ohio. It is best known as a freeway spur stemming westward from Interstate 75 to access the city of Hamilton. That freeway is the eastern portion of Ohio Route 129, which means that the route's overall eastern terminus is at Interstate 75. From there, Ohio Route 129 runs west on the freeway for about ten miles. The freeway ends, and Ohio Route 129 continues as a surface street into downtown Hamilton. In downtown Hamilton, Ohio Route 129 crosses northwesterly over the Great Miami River. While the northwesterly street continues as Ohio Route 177, Ohio Route 129 bends back westerly to head out of town. Beyond Hamilton, Ohio Route 129 continues west through Millville to the border town of Scipio, an unincorporated hamlet. It is at this unincorporated hamlet that Ohio Route 129 ends, at an Ohio Route 126 that's turning into Indiana State Road 252.
My photo of Ohio State Route 129 comes from the west side of Millville, at a junction where Ohio Route 748 starts off toward the south. Soon after Ohio Route 129's westward course takes it through a junction with US Route 27 in Millville, it reaches an intersection where Ohio Route 748 begins. The westbound trailblazer shown reassures cars leaving that junction that if they continue westward, they will stay on Ohio Route 129. This photo was taken during the southwest Ohio trip of October 2018. Back to Ohio Routes 100-199. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
