Ohio State Route 706 is a short east-west route east of Sidney, county seat of Shelby County. The eastern end connects to Quincy, Ohio, in the southwest corner of Logan County. After Ohio Route 29 heads easterly out of Sidney, it suddenly jerks toward the south. This gives rise to Ohio Route 706, which gives travelers the option of continuing due eastward. Further ahead, Ohio Route 706 jogs northerly for a short distance near the tiny town of Pemberton. It continues east, jogging north slightly once more before ending at Ohio Route 235 on the south side of Quincy.
My photo for Ohio Route 706 looks north at the north end of the easternmost jog in the route. This isn't the jog near Pemberton; this is the smaller jog between Pemberton and Quincy. The signage in the photo reassures travelers that Ohio Route 706 turns right onto its final straightaway. This photo was taken in June 2016, on the way back home from Columbus.
