^Looking south on Wisconsin 100 from Interstate 94, near the Zoo Interchange, October 2022.
Wisconsin Highway 100 is a "C"-shaped series of arterials encapsulating the inner portions of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The northeastern endpoint of this "C"-shaped route is an interchange where Brown Deer Road meets Interstate 43 in the northern suburbs of Milwaukee. At this interchange, Wisconsin Highway 32 ends its concurrency with the Interstate coming in from the north, and it jumps east to another southward arterial. That leaves the western leg of the junction, where Wisconsin Highway 100 is born. Highway 100 goes west down Brown Deer Road to form the northern portion of the "C". At the northwest corner of the "C", Highway 100 joins Interstate 41 south for a few miles before jumping off to its own southbound arterial known as Lovers Lane Road. The roadway eventually becomes 108th Avenue, and this north-south portion of Wisconsin Highway 100 is never far from Interstate 41. Highway 100 passes the Milwaukee Zoo and Interstate 94 at about the same time. In Greenfield, a southwestern suburb of Milwaukee, Interstate 41 follows Interstate 894 by bending toward the east, but Highway 100 keeps going toward the south. In Franklin, Highway 100 bends toward the east, following Ryan Road. Highway 100 crosses Interstate 94 and Wisconsin Highway 38 south of Milwaukee, entering Oak Creek. The east side of Oak Creek is where Highway 100 ends at Wisconsin Highway 32.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 100 comes from the intersection of Ryan Road and 35th Street in Franklin. This junction is just west of Wisconsin Highway 241. Northbound travelers on 35th Street use this sign to identify that Ryan Road carries Wisconsin Highway 100. This photo was taken in July 2018 during a day drive around the Milwaukee area.
