^Wisconsin 122 continues north from the point where it intersects US Route 2, August 2020.
Wisconsin Highway 122 is a short north-south highway in northernmost Wisconsin. It runs from Upson north to the point where the Wisconsin-Michigan state line meets Lake Superior. The southern end in Upson is at Wisconsin Highway 77. From there, Highway 122 heads north through a 4-way intersection with US Route 2. That intersection is about ten miles west of Hurley. Four more miles remain along Highway 122's northward journey. The northern end is a bridge that brings the roadway into the westernmost extent of the state of Michigan. The roadway continues north for a fraction of a mile before turning easterly to hug the southern shoreline of Lake Superior.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 122 shows some guide markers planted at the intersection with US Route 2. Westbound travelers on US Route 2 use this sign to decide how to navigate through the intersection. This photo was taken in August 2020 during a trip to Ashland and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
