^Wisconsin 130 continues north from Wisconsin 133 to cross the Wisconsin River into Lone Rock, October 2016.
Wisconsin Highway 130 is a fairly short north-south highway running through the hills and valleys of southwestern Wisconsin. Wisconsin Highway 130 begins by splitting off of Wisconsin Highway 154 south of Lime Ridge. Heading toward the south, Wisconsin Highway 130 sets out for Lone Rock, where it meets US Route 14 and a bridge crossing over the Wisconsin River. As soon as Highway 130 reaches the southern bank of the river, it turns toward the east at a point where Wisconsin Highway 133 begins its journey toward the west. Soon after bending toward the east along the south bank of the Wisconsin River, Wisconsin Highway 130 bends back toward the south to climb up and around some hills. It wiggles southeasterly to end at Wisconsin Highway 23, a highway that traffic can use to continue south to Dodgeville.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 130 shows this northbound guide assembly found along Wisconsin Highway 23. Northbound travelers on Highway 23 now know that they are about to reach the turn onto the southern beginning of Highway 130. This photo was taken in September 2019 as I clipped across southwestern Wisconsin to reach northern Iowa. Back to the Michigan main page. Back to the home page.
