^Wisconsin 142 continues west beyond the former Wisconsin 75 at Brighton, February 2022.
Wisconsin Highway 142 is a fairly short east-west route connecting Kenosha and Burlington. It is found mostly in Kenosha County, and a small part also lies in southwestern Racine County. The western end is at the expressway bypass of Burlington, that carries Wisconsin Highway 11. This endpoint is on the southeast side of that town. From there, Wisconsin Highway 142 proceeds east-southeastward. It passes through rural areas and it crosses US Route 45 before ending just shy of the city of Kenosha at Interstate 94 (and US Route 41).
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 142 is a westbound trailblazer for drivers who, in the past, were looking for reassurance as they began to proceed westward beyond Wisconsin Highway 75. (Wisconsin Highway 75 has been downgraded to County Highway BD.) The intersection home to this sign assembly is in Brighton, Wisconsin, in western Kenosha County. This photo was taken in February 2022, as I was returning from a trip to northeastern parts of Wisconsin. Back to the Wisconsin main page. Back to the home page.
