^Wisconsin 243 starts off toward the west in Osceola, July 2025.
Wisconsin Highway 243 is a very short route, but it links to an important bridge crossing over the St. Croix River into Minnesota. Highway 243 is found in Osceola, Wisconsin, which is 30 miles northeast of St. Paul, Minnesota. The short road over the bridge, linking Wisconsin to Minnesota, is labeled as Minnesota Highway 243 west of the bridge. East of the bridge, Wisconsin Highway 243 is only about three tenths of a mile long. The eastern end of Highway 243 is at Highway 35, in Osceola.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 243 is derived from the southbound guide assembly along Wisconsin Highway 35, in Osceola. Southbound travelers use this signage to locate the right turn onto Highway 243, that they may use to cross the St. Croix River and access Minnesota. It's interesting to see the "To Minnesota Highway 95" symbology included on the sign, too. This photo was taken during the western Wisconsin trip of July 2025. Back to the Wisconsin main page.
