^Looking north from the southern end of Wisconsin 46 at Wisconsin 64 south of Deer Park, July 2025.
Wisconsin Highway 46 is a pretty short north-south highway in northwestern Wisconsin. East of New Richmond, US Route 63 comes from the south to join Wisconsin Highway 64 eastward. At the intersection where those two highways converge, Wisconsin Highway 46 arises to help people who want to continue northward. Wisconsin Highway 46 continues northward to serve Deer Park and Amery. When it reaches US Route 8, it joins the US highway westward for a spell, before correcting to the north onto its own independent alignment once again. Highway 46 then serves Balsam Lake. About six miles beyond Balsam Lake, Highway 46 ends as the roadway converges with Wisconsin Highway 35 at Milltown.
My photo of a route marker for Wisconsin Highway 46 shows the first northbound trailblazer used by those diverting from US Route 63 and/or Wisconsin Highway 64. The aperture looks north, where the town of Deer Park lies far in the distance. This photo was taken in July 2025, during my trip to western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota.
