Indiana State Route 249 is a short north-south connector in northwest Indiana, specifically in Porter County. It is the access road to the Port of Indiana, heading into the port from US Route 20 and Interstate 94. US Route 20, running on the southern side of Interstate 94, serves as the absolute southern terminus of Indiana Route 249, though continuing south can lead traffic to the Portage exit (exit 23) off the Indiana Toll Road, home to Interstates 80 and 90.
My photo for Indiana State Route 249 is the northbound trailblazer coming off of the Interstate 94 interchange. I did a little bit of driving around northwestern Indiana in early April 2018, and that is how I got a photo of this scene. Back to the Indiana main page. Back to the home page.
