Indiana State Route 3 runs north-south in eastern Indiana, following two separate segments: one north of Fort Wayne, and one south of Fort Wayne. The southern section runs all the way from US Route 224 in Markle, just south of Fort Wayne, south past Muncie to Charlestown at Indiana Route 62, near the Louisville area. The northern section extends from Interstate 69 in Fort Wayne, north through Kendallville to Indiana 120 at Brighton, almost at the Michigan border.
My photo of Indiana 3 signage communicates to traffic using the northbound approach to the intersection with Indiana 256. This is in far western Jefferson County, east of Austin. The sign sits on the channelizing island at the northeast corner of the intersection. This photo was taken at the end of April, 2018.

Indiana 3 crosses Indiana 116 in Markle.
Indiana 3 crosses Indiana 26 in Hartford City. I made a special detour to Hartford City for the purpose of entering the elusive Blackford County. This means I have now been through every county in Indiana!
Indiana 3 crosses Indiana 28 at a junction where US Route 35 comes from the west to join Indiana 3 southward.
Indiana 3 and US Route 35 both use an expressway bypass around Muncie, and that expressway bypass has an interchange with Indiana 32.
In Rushville, Indiana 3 comes from the south to join US Route 52 westward into downtown.
Indiana 3 continues west with US Route 52, from the point where the two routes converge.
At Vernon, Indiana 3 comes from the south to join Indiana 7 through town. The oddly shaped intersection has experienced some errant drivers, leading to the construction of this mast arm-mounted sign assembly.
