Ohio State Route 217 is a short east-west route found in Lawrence County, in Ohio's southernmost lobe. About seven miles after heading east out of Ohio Route 141, it reaches a fork where Ohio Route 141 bears left, toward the northeast. If a traveler reaching this fork bears right instead, they will reach the western beginning of Ohio Route 217. Ohio Route 217 winds through the hilly countryside of southernmost Ohio, mainly staying in rural areas. Ohio Route 217 reaches its final destination of Miller, Ohio, when it ends at Ohio Route 7.
My photo for Ohio State Route 217 comes from the unincorporated hamlet of Scottown, where it meets Ohio Route 775. After Ohio Route 217 comes from the west, it joins Ohio Route 775 north for a short distance. Then, the routes split up again, as indicated by this sign, which faces south. Continuing on Ohio Route 217 requires a turn to the east. This photo was taken in March 2021, during the tour of southeastern Ohio. Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page.
