​Ohio State Route 306 runs north from Aurora to Mentor, in northeastern Ohio. As Ohio Route 43 heads south toward Aurora, it diverts onto a northwesterly road around downtown Aurora.  The northward road continues as the southern beginning of Ohio Route 306.  Ohio Route 306 heads north from there through the heart of Aurora, and it continues north through Bainbridge and Chesterland.  Beyond that, Ohio Route 306 enters the northeastern reaches of the Cleveland suburbs, specifically Kirtland and Mentor.  In the northwest corner of Mentor, Ohio Route 306 ends at Ohio Route 283.

My photo of Ohio Route 306 signage comes from the intersection with Ohio Route 87 southeast of Hunting Valley. This is just outside the outer edge of the Cleveland suburbs. The aperture looks north at a northbound trailblazer for Ohio Route 306, seen by those leaving the intersection. This photo was taken as I drove the entire length of Ohio Route 87 in April 2025.
