Indiana State Route 727 is a tiny spur westward from Indiana State Route 127 into Pokagon State Park, in far northeastern Indiana. The eastern end at Indiana State Route 127 is mere feet from Interstate 69's exit 354, which lies just to the east. This whole situation is just north of Angola. A "no outlet" sign sits on Indiana Route 727 as you enter it from the east, showing that this is strictly a driveway to the state park. Indiana Route 727 is the only route number used in the 700's (the recent removal of Indiana Route 750 made this true).
My photo for Indiana Route 727 is at the eastern beginning. The aperture faces west toward a sign assembly showing that Indiana Route 127 turns right to continue north, whereas staying straight westward will put your vehicle onto Indiana Route 727. Here, Indiana Route 127 cuts from north to west across an interchange with Interstate 69, then cutting back north again; as it cuts back northerly, Route 727 is born, continuing straight west to Pokagon State Park. A return trip home from Ohio gave me the chance to take this photo in June, 2016. Back to the Indiana main page. Back to the home page.
