^Looking south at the 4-way intersection with Highway 57 in downtown Greenville, March 2018.
Michigan Highway 91 is a fairly short north-south highway in rural areas northeast of Grand Rapids. Perhaps its most notable function is to serve as the main north-south route through Greenville, birthplace of the Meijer department store brand. The northern end of Michigan Highway 91 is at Michigan Highway 46 by the town of Lakeview. Michigan Highway 91 runs south from there through Greenville, where it meets a 4-way intersection with Michigan Highway 57. The southern end of Michigan Highway 91 is about five miles south of Greenville, at Michigan Highway 44 in the town of Belding.
An older photo for Michigan Highway 91 once took center stage on this webpage, but a new photo has since replaced it. The newer, improved photo appears next, but the older photo is still visible at the bottom of the page, now.
My new photo for Michigan Highway 91 comes from the southern end of the route, where it intersects Michigan Highway 44 in Belding. This is northeast of Grand Rapids. Westbound travelers use this set of guide markers to locate the right turn onto the southernmost piece of Michigan Highway 91. This photo was taken during a snowy visit to western Michigan in January 2026.
My older photo of a Michigan Highway 91 marker came from the route's northern end at Michigan Highway 46, alongside the town of Lakeview. The guide assembly depicted faces west to eastbound travelers on Michigan Highway 46, who now can spot the place to turn onto Michigan Highway 91. Driving home from Traverse City in March 2018, I took this photo as part of a detour to drive the full length of Michigan Highway 91 southward.
