Ohio State Route 416 runs north-south in Tuscarawas County, serving New Philadelphia and the area around it. The northern end is along Ohio Route 800 just east of Dover. Ohio Route 416 immediately heads south right through the center of New Philadelphia; it serves as the town's main north-south street. Upon reaching an interchange with US Route 250, Ohio Route 416 makes a sharp left turn onto a southeasterly alignment, down the west side of the Tuscarawas River. It gradually matches the river's course, curving around toward the southwest again and serving the town of Tuscarawas. Soon after, Ohio Route 416 reaches its southern end at US Route 36 on the west side of Gnaddenhutten.
My photo of Ohio Route 416 shows a northbound trailblazer at the intersection with Ray Street in New Philadelphia. This is about four blocks north of Ohio Route 800 and the center of town. The aperture and the travelers reading this sign are looking north-northeastward. This photo was taken during the October 2022 tour around the northeastern quarter of Ohio.
