^Northbound trailblazer seen by those leaving the southwest end at Iowa 220, Feburary 2016.
Iowa Route 220 is a short route serving the Amana Colonies region, shaped like a capital letter "L" that's been rotated 90 degrees clockwise. It begins at US Route 6 in South Amana and heads north to West Amana, where it bends easterly through Middle Amana. Iowa Route 220 ends heading easterly, cut off by US Route 151 in Amana (the one with no prefix). Though the Iowa Route 220 designation ends at US Route 151, the roadway continues easterly as a county road, to East Amana and beyond.
My photo of Iowa Route 220 signage comes from its southwestern end along US Route 6. The signage in this photo faces east so travelers on US Route 6's westbound lane can determine where to find the turn onto Iowa Route 220. This photo was taken in February 2016 as I was making my way to Omaha using Interstate 80, with a few little detours. For context, Interstate 80 lies about six miles south of this point.
