Ohio State Route 55 is an east-west route in west-central Ohio. It is only found in Champaign and Miami Counties. The eastern end is on the south side of Urbana, at US Route 68. Ohio Route 55 starts out from Urbana to go west-southwest through Christiansburg to Troy. It continues beyond Troy to the west-southwest, to serve Ludlow Falls and Laura, two small towns in southwestern Miami County. Laura is where Ohio Route 55 ends, at Ohio Route 571.
My photo of Ohio State Route 55 comes from Casstown, a small town northeast of Troy. This photo shows signage at the north end of a jog Ohio Route 55 takes through Casstown. The signage faces south, indicating that Ohio Route 55 continues to the east by turning right, while Ohio Route 589 begins on the street ahead. This photo was taken in September 2017, driving home from Columbus using an indirect route (via Celina and Bryan).
