^Looking south in Thorntown, a bit south of Indiana Route 47, August 2024.
Indiana State Route 75 is the designation for two different north-south highways, on the west edge of what I'd consider "central Indiana". The northern segment begins at Indiana Route 218 in Camden, and runs south to US Route 421 in Frankfort. The southern segment begins at Indiana State Route 47 in Thorntown, just west of Interstate 65, and runs south to US Route 40 near Stilesville. The southern segment is longer. Both segments lie west of Indiana State Routes 29 and 39, but east of State Routes 55 and 59, so the number 75 is an anomaly on Indiana's highway numbering system.
An older photo for Indiana Route 75 took center stage on this page, but it has since been replaced. That former featured photo is still available for viewing at the bottom of this page, though. First, enjoy the newer photo, shown next.
My photo for Indiana Route 75 shows the trailblazer seen by those turning northward off of US Route 36, at a 4-way intersection occurring a few miles west of Danville, Indiana. The aperture looks north at the stretch of Indiana Route 75 extending north from US Route 36. This photo was taken in August 2024, as I was covering some unvisited counties along an indirect route to Cincinnati, Ohio.
