^Indiana 9 crosses US Route 33 at Merriam, March 2021.
Indiana State Route 9 runs from northeastern Indiana to near Columbus, which is just south of Indianapolis. It overall has a bit of a south-southwesterly angle from its northern end point, where Michigan Highway 66 crosses from Michigan into Indiana. Indiana State Route 9 passes through towns like LaGrange, Huntington, and Marion, before it ends at State Route 46 just east of Columbus.
The sign I photographed for Indiana State Route 9 lies on the southwest corner of Indiana State Routes 9, 32, and 232 in Anderson, where Indiana 32 joins Indiana 9 north from the west, and spawns the Indiana 232 spur which continues east. The sign shows traffic on Indiana 32 eastbound how to access Indiana 9 south. Indiana 32 turns left here onto Indiana 9 north, as continuing straight puts travelers on Indiana 232. This photo, like most of my Indiana photos containing snow, comes from February 2017. Back to the Indiana main page. Back to the home page.
