Iowa Route 188 is an east-west route with a southern jog at the west end, and it's situated north of Waterloo in northeastern Iowa.  The eastern end is at US Route 63 near Frederika.  From there, Iowa Route 188 heads west through Plainfield, where it crosses US Route 218.  Seven miles west of US Route 218, Iowa Route 188 bends to start heading south for the remainder of its route.  It passes through Clarksville on its southward journey, and then it ends at Iowa Route 3.

My photo for Iowa Route 188 is the eastern end marker, by the intersection with US Route 63.  That intersection can be seen in the background.  The aperture faces east, as are the drivers making use of the message on this sign.  This photo was taken in September 2019, as part of my trip across northern Iowa.
