Ohio State Route 327 runs north-south in southeastern Ohio, from Adelphi to Wellston and Winchester. Winchester is an unincorporated place along US Route 35 in southeastern Jackson County. From its terminus there, which sits along US Route 35, Ohio Route 327 runs north to Wellston, where it shares pavement with Ohio Route 93 for a bit. But Ohio Route 93 usurps the throne of northward highway, and Ohio Route 327 deflects off toward the west and northwest. It joins US Route 50 west a bit so it can reach the west side of Salt Creek, and then it turns northerly along the west side of the creek. Ohio Route 327's objective, at this point, is to serve Tar Hollow State Park. Once it has reached this objective, Ohio Route 327 continues a little farther to end at Ohio Route 180 in Adelphi, at a point that's just barely south of Ohio Route 56.
My photo of Ohio Route 327 shows a northbound trailblazer that reassures drivers turning off of US Route 35. And that reassurance is especially necessary, because travelers turn toward the south to see this sign. That is because a short connector road in the southeast quadrant of the junction is what connects US Route 35 to the road that carries Ohio 327 toward the north. To reach Ohio 327 from US Route 35, a driver must turn south on this connector road and wrap around to the T-intersection at Ohio 327. Then that driver has to turn right to access the state route. This photo was taken in April 2025, as I was driving US Route 35 from end to end. Back to Ohio Routes 300-499. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
