Illinois Route 99 is a north-south route mainly in Schuyler and Brown Counties in west-central Illinois. It begins at Illinois 101, goes south to serve as the main north-south route in Mount Sterling, and then connects that town to Meredosia to the southeast.

After passing through Versailles, Illinois 99 ends at Illinois 104 on the opposite bank of the Illinois River from Meredosia. Traffic can continue east on Illinois 104 to reach the Jacksonville area:
