Michigan Highway 63 is a short north-south highway designated to serve Benton Harbor and Saint Joseph, in southwest Michigan. It basically serves as a business alignment for Interstate 196 and the southern continuation of Interstate 94 beyond the pair of cities. Since the main highway alignment running north-south alongside the areas doesn't have one consistent designation, Michigan Highway 63 couldn't really be billed as a business alternate to it. It's just its own state highway now. The southern end of Michigan Highway 63 is at Michigan Highway 139 just barely southeast of Interstate 94. From there, Michigan Highway 63 runs northwest, bending to a north-northeasterly path through St. Joseph and into Benton Harbor. The northern end of Michigan Highway 63 is at Interstate 196, exit 7.
My photo of a Michigan Highway 63 marker comes from the northern end of that route: the interchange with Interstate 196. The signage shown faces south on the northbound offramp from Interstate 196, exit 7. This photo was taken along a drive to Traverse City in March 2018.
