Illinois Route 149 is an east-west route in southwestern Illinois. It starts about ten miles east of Interstate 57, which runs along the backbone of southern Illinois, and runs west through Murphysboro to end at Illinois 3 near the Mississippi River. It runs in Franklin County, across the northwest corner of Williamson County, and in Jackson County, where it trades places with Illinois 13 in Murphysboro.
