^Looking east down Iowa 7 from Iowa 4 south of Pomeroy, May 2022.
Iowa Route 7 is an east-west route in northwestern Iowa, serving as an intermediary thoroughfare between Iowa Route 3 and US Route 20. The route has a slight northwest-southeast angle, connecting Cherokee to Fort Dodge in the grand scheme of things. The northwestern end is at Iowa Route 3 just east of Cherokee. The eastern end is at US Route 169 on the western edge of Fort Dodge, at an interchange just north of US Route 20. Iowa Route 7 is the main route through Storm Lake, and it also serves other small towns like Newell, Manson, and Pomeroy.
My photo for Iowa Route 7 is the northwestern end marker, just east of Cherokee. Iowa Route 3 runs across the background of the photo, and the town of Cherokee lies just to the left (west). My photo for Iowa Route 3 was taken on the western leg of the same intersection featured in the photo. The image you see was snapped in September 2019 as part of the northern Iowa trip. Here are some additional photos taken along Iowa Route 7:
