Ohio State Route 687 is a short highway on the northwest side of the Canton area. It runs along Fulton Road, which runs radially northwestward out of downtown Canton. However, the southeastern beginning of Ohio Route 687 does not occur until Fulton Road crosses Interstate 77. This southeastern terminus is right where Interstate 77 splits with US Route 62, which exits onto an eastward expressway from the south. Fulton Road carries Ohio Route 687 northwestward through suburban Canton for about five and a half miles. It intersects no other state highways besides Ohio Route 241 at its northwestern terminus. This northwestern terminus is in an unincorporated suburban area where Massillon meets Canton.
My photo for Ohio Route 687 comes from the southeastern endpoint, at Interstate 77 and US Route 62. This is the first westbound trailblazer encountered by travelers leaving the interchange that accesses Interstate 77 and US Route 62. This photo was taken in October 2022 during the grand tour of northeastern Ohio.
