Illinois Route 21 is a north-south route in Chicago's northern suburbs. Since I drove the route from south to north in its entirety, I'm going to list the intersections from south to north on this page. The southern beginning is in Niles, just north of Chicago's north side, and it runs north-northwest as Milwaukee Avenue, to eventually end in Gurnee.
Illinois 21 starts at Illinois 43 in Niles, just outside of the Chicago city limits:

After a mile and a half, Illinois 21 crosses US Route 14 at a very thin single-point urban interchange (SPUI) with ramps from US Route 14:
The next major road a mile to the north is Illinois 58, which Illinois 21 meets at a normal 4-way intersection:

After crossing under Interstate 294 with no access, Illinois 21 joins US Route 45 in the northeast corner of Mt. Prospect:

Shortly after crossing Illinois 22, Illinois 21 and US Route 45 split up:
Right alongside the Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills, Illinois 21 intersects Illinois 60:
In the center of Libertyville, Illinois 21 crosses Illinois 176:
Then, Illinois 21 intersects Illinois 137 as it is heading north out of Libertyville:
As Illinois 21 makes its way into the Gurnee area, it serves as the surface road at a fountain interchange from Illinois 120:
