Ohio State Route 561 is a surface route found in the northern and eastern portions of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The southeastern end is an interchange with US Route 50 that also is home to the western ends of Ohio Route 32 and Ohio Route 125; this interchange is in Linwood, Ohio. Ohio Route 561 zigzags northwesterly through the Cincinnati suburbs from that point. For a short stretch, it joins US Route 22 and Ohio Route 3 northward over the Ohio Route 562 freeway; access to and from the freeway is provided via Norwood Avenue. From here, Ohio Route 561 runs northwesterly toward Carthage. In Carthage, Ohio Route 562 turns westerly through an intersection with Ohio Route 4, continuing just a little further to end at Vine Street.
My photo for Ohio Route 561 comes from the junction with Norwood Avenue, which is tangentially its opportunity to access the Ohio Route 562 freeway. The reassurance marker shown in the photo faces south, helping northbound drivers decide if they made the right turn. Note that US Route 22, Ohio Route 3, and Ohio Route 561 are all represented here, as all three routes run concurrently through the intersection. This photo was taken in October 2018, during a drive around southwestern Ohio.
