Ohio State Route 374 is a north-south route winding through the woods and hillsides of western Hocking County. It is used by tourists and hikers to reach Hocking State Forest and Hocking Hills State Park. The northern end of Ohio Route 374 is at an interchange with US Route 33 just northwest of Logan. It zigzags southwesterly to a northern exclave of Hocking State Forest, then it drops south to Ohio Route 180. It joins Ohio Route 180 west for a bit, then it continues south independently. It curves east, but then Ohio Route 678 takes over the easterly alignment, allowing Ohio Route 374 to resume its southerly motion through the main unit of Hocking State Forest. Ohio Route 374 then joins Ohio Route 664 east into Hocking Hills State Park, and it turns southerly after that. Finally, Ohio Route 374 ends at Ohio Route 56.
My photo of Ohio Route 374 comes from the point where it joins Ohio Route 180 toward the southwest. Travelers heading westerly on Ohio Route 180 will notice this guide marker telling them that Ohio Route 374 comes from the right, but also continues straight ahead. This photo was taken in April 2021, as I was taking the US Route 33 corridor toward Virginia.
