Ohio State Route 209 spends 16 miles heading northwest-southeast in the vicinity of Cambridge, Ohio. The southeastern start of the highway occurs at the first interchange along Interstate 77 south of Interstate 70. At this interchange in Byesville, Ohio, Ohio Route 209 and Ohio Route 821 start off toward the west. As this is Ohio Route 821's northern terminus, Ohio Route 821 turns away to the south very shortly after the pair of routes gets started. Ohio Route 209 then winds northwesterly from Byesville into downtown Cambridge, where it joins US Routes 22 and 40 west for a few blocks. Ohio Route 209 splits away to head northwesterly out of Cambridge, but it soon curves westerly. The western end of Ohio Route 209 is at Ohio Route 83 in the hamlet of Bloomfield.
My photo for Ohio State Route 209 shows an eastbound trailblazer northwest of Cambridge, at Ohio Route 662. The southern end of Ohio Route 662 occurs at Ohio Route 209 in western Muskingum County; travelers leaving Ohio Route 662 using a turn to the right will be greeted by the signage depicted here. This photo was taken along a northern portion of my grand tour of southeastern Ohio, in March 2021. Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
