​Ohio State Route 138 runs southwesterly out of the Circleville area into southwestern Ohio. The northeastern end is just west of Circleville at US Route 22.  Ohio Route 138 runs southwesterly from there to Hillsboro and beyond. More specifically, Ohio Route 138 ends up about 15 miles southwest of Hillsboro at its ultimate point, where it ends at Ohio Route 134.

My photo of Ohio State Route 138 comes from the north side of Hillsboro, Ohio.  The aperture, and presumably the people observing this sign, looks south to comprehend that Ohio Route 138 is reached by making a left just ahead. What this signage fails to mention is that Ohio Route 138 also continues straight ahead along US Route 62 southbound.  Ohio Route 138 is about to join US Route 62, but this northward-facing signage neglects to bring that up.  This picture was taken early on an October morning in 2018, as part of a trip around southwestern Ohio.
