Indiana State Route 71 takes the form of two north-south highways through rural areas along the western edge of the State of Indiana. The first segment of Indiana Route 71 starts at a point along US Routes 24 and 52 west of Kentland, and it heads south to a point along the Illinois border near Ambia, where Illinois Route 9 becomes Indiana Route 26. The southerly segment of Indiana Route 71 starts at Indiana Route 63 near Newport and heads south to Indiana Route 163 at Blanford.
An older photo was previously used as the main photo for Indiana Route 71, but I have since replaced it with a newer photo. That older photo is still available for viewing, though, at the bottom of this page.
My official photo of Indiana Route 71 shows a northbound trailblazer seen by those who turn away from Indiana Route 18. Indiana Route 71 is starting to continue north away from its 4-way intersection with Indiana Route 18 near Raub. This photo was taken on the way home from Cincinnati in August 2024.
My older photo for Indiana Route 71 appears next.
My photo for Indiana Route 71 is the first southbound trailblazer on the southern segment, for traffic coming off of Indiana Route 63. The northern end of the southern segment is the location of this photo, near Newport, Indiana. This photo was taken on the way to my big southern Indiana tour in April, 2018.
