^Looking east from the western end at Ohio 309, October 2022.
Ohio State Route 701 is a straight, short, east-west highway between Ada and Kenton, in Hardin County, Ohio. After Ohio Route 309 proceeds due easterly out of Lima, it bends towawrd the southeast so it can serve Kenton. Ohio Route 701 takes over as an easterly pathway, where Ohio Route 309 bends. Along its nine-mile easterly course, Ohio Route 701 runs through the unincorporated hamlet of Blanchard. Then, it ends at US Route 68 north of Kenton.
My photo for Ohio Route 701 comes from the western end at Ohio Route 309. You can see the point where Ohio Route 309 bends in the photo, which looks northwesterly. Westbound travelers on Ohio Route 701 will see the guide marker in the photo, and use it to locate the right turn onto Ohio Route 701. I'm not sure why a westbound traveler would want to turn eastward to go back in the other direction along Ohio Route 701, unless they came from Ohio Route 195, whose northern end is just barely to the southeast of here. This photo was taken in October 2022, on the way to Columbus.
