Ohio State Route 57 runs north-south in areas west and south of Cleveland, poking east at random times as it primarily proceeds toward the south. It begins in Lorain, at US Route 6, and starts heading south. It pokes east for the first time, thence turning south toward Elyria. Before it can reach downtown Elyria, it pokes east to another southerly alignment. This southerly alignment takes Ohio Route 57 to Grafton, but it juts east again out of Grafton, to Ohio Route 83. It joins Ohio Route 83 for a bit, but then splits toward the east on Ohio Route 303. The next segment sees Ohio Route 57 splitting from Ohio Route 303, to head southeast to Medina. Ohio Route 57 continues through Medina, turning southerly at Wadsworth onto its final stretch. This final stretch runs due south through Orrville to US Route 30. This southern end at US Route 30 is between Wooster and Canton.
My photo of Ohio State Route 57 comes from its concurrency with Ohio Route 83 north of Grafton. The trailblazers shown face northbound travelers who are leaving the intersection where Ohio Route 57 turns from Ohio Route 83 south to Ohio Route 303 east. This marks the southern end of the concurrency between Ohio Route 57 and Ohio Route 83. This photo was taken in October 2022 as part of the grand tour of northeastern Ohio.
