US Route 425 runs from Pine Bluff, Arkansas south to Natchez, Mississippi. Most of its time is spent in southeastern Arkansas and northeastern Louisiana. US Route 425's number is one of the three anomalous routes numbered in the 400's, not affiliated with any parent route with the number 25. US Route 425 would fit well as a child route of US Route 65, since its northern end in Pine Bluff is at US Route 65; however, US Route 425 twists and turns with US Route 165, and if both routes end in "65", that might get confusing for people. The southern end in Natchez is concurrent with US Route 84, at US Route 61.
My photo for US Route 425 comes from the northern endpoint at US Route 65 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The sign assembly shown in the picture is the junction assembly for westbound traffic on US Route 65. The aperture faces west, as does the traffic interacting with this signage. US Route 425 starts to the left, while Arkansas Route 81 starts to the right. This photo was taken in October 2014, as part of my only time driving in Arkansas.
