Ohio State Route 297 is a tiny north-south connector between US Route 30 and Ohio Route 172, on the west side of Canton. Ohio Route 172 follows Tuscarawas Street, the main east-west street that goes through downtown Canton--in other words, it's Canton's "Equator". Ohio Route 297 drops southerly from Ohio Route 172 on the west side of town, running for less than a mile and a half. Ohio Route 297 uses Raff Road, to be specific, and it follows Raff Road south to an interchange with US Route 30, where it ends. Note that US Route 62 is also concurrent with US Route 30 in this vicinity.
My photo for Ohio State Route 297 shows a northbound trailblazer seen by those leaving the 4-way intersection with 17th Street, in Canton. This intersection is just barely north of US Route 30 (and US Route 62), so the trailblazer depicted is useful to those leaving the US Route 30 interchange as well. This photo was taken during the grand tour around the northeastern quarter of Ohio, in October 2022. Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
